STORIES OUT LOUD - Storytelling Workshop
The shortest distance between people is a story.
We all carry stories worth telling. Stories Out Loud is a two-part storytelling experience hosted by Anette Arinix and Larry Ganiron in partnership with MORI at Capitol Modern. Together, we’ll create a welcoming space to explore the stories that shape us and discover the connection that happens when we share them with others.
Part One: Storytelling Workshop
Saturday, October 3 (11am-2pm) Capitol Modern
This optional workshop is open to anyone curious about storytelling. Whether you’ve never shared a story in front of a room, want to dip your toes into storytelling, or are looking to sharpen your craft as a performer, this workshop offers a supportive space to:

Build confidence sharing your story aloud

Connect with others through the art of storytelling
No previous storytelling or performance experience is required. Come with a story, an idea, a memory - or simply curiosity.
Part Two: Live Storytelling Event
Friday, October 16 (6-8pm) Capitol Modern
Stories Out Loud culminates in an evening of true, personal stories - funny, vulnerable, surprising, familiar, and deeply human.
Come for the workshop, the live event, or both.
More than anything, we want to create a room that feels like Hawaiʻi: real people telling real stories, listening to one another, and finding connection in the experiences we share.
Your story doesn’t have to be extraordinary to be worth telling. It just has to be yours.
About the Hosts
Larry Ganiron is a Honolulu-based creative director, designer, photographer, and storyteller. He is the founder of Lifted Creative Studio, where he helps Hawaiʻi organizations and communities tell clearer, more meaningful stories through brand, design, and media. Larry also serves as President of AAF Hawaiʻi. Across his work, he is especially interested in the ways story can create connection, help people make meaning of their experiences, and remind us that ordinary lives are often anything but ordinary.
Anette Arinix is a Samoan-Pasifika producer, writer, and creative director from Hawaiʻi making film, comedy, and community-driven projects rooted in Pasifika stories. She is the founder of Polynesian AF and the creator of Stories Out Loud and For Da Cousins. She loves building spaces where people can laugh, feel seen, and tell their stories.
