Sonic Arts Assembly: Electronic Music Artist Meetup + Pass the AUX Showcase (with Special Guest: SUBTOLL) - Sep 12, 2026
Sonic Arts Assembly is excited to present a free community gathering for producers, sound artists, and beatmakers on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Capitol Modern (The Hawaiʻi State Art Museum) in Honolulu. This event is free, but registration is required.
Whether you’re a seasoned live performer, a bedroom producer, or simply curious about music technology, this event is open to everyone. Music tech enthusiasts, live performers, electronic musicians of all genres and skill levels are welcome.
We will begin with a short Live Performance from our special guest Subtoll who will also be hosting our Workshop: The Ups and Downs of the Creative Process, followed by a "Pass the AUX" showcase where participants have an opportunity to share a 2-minute snippet of their latest track or beat in a no-judgement pressure-free environment. If you're interested in participating, be sure to bring your track (on a laptop, phone, or tablet) and arrive early to sign up as we'll have very limited time slots available.

Pass the AUX: How to Participate
Share your latest track or beat during our Pass the AUX artist showcase! This is an opportunity to introduce your music to the group in a judgement-free zone. Come early to sign up as we will have limited slots available.
To participate, please bring:

Your track (a 2-minute snippet max) cued up on a device such as a phone, tablet or laptop

About Subtoll
Subtoll is an independent electronic music producer based in Honolulu, Hawai’i, operating within the realms of Dance, Rnb, Neo Soul, Breakbeat, and UK Sounds. Blending organic acoustic textures with subtle electronic synthesis, his sound focuses on understated melodies, warm ambient soundscapes, and steady, relaxed rhythm sections.
His early discography reflects a quiet, introspective approach to composition. Highlights like “outside” (2M streams), "Sleeper" (notably remixed by Surf Mesa), "Multicolor", and "Coffee Shop Symphony" show a preference for subtle grooves, spacious arrangement, and evocative, mood-driven production rather than high-energy drops. His more recent work translates those more subdued themes into dancier and harder hitting motif’s with tracks such as "wandering" and "one43.wav". He now is focusing on the relationship between songwriting and his more upbeat/ catchy unreleased works.
