About the Artist

LANI Jungeun Lee is an artist based in O‘ahu, Hawaii, originally from Seoul, Korea. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 1998. In 2014, she moved to O‘ahu, where a native Hawaiian friend gave her the name "Lani," meaning "heavenly" in Hawaiian. Embracing her new life, she transitioned into a full-time painter, drawing inspiration from her multilayered experiences in Hawaii. Her artwork focuses on local plants, wildlife, the ocean, and the residents of the Hawaiian islands.
